1-Step Paint Correction in Middlesbrough & Teesside

Your car’s paint tells a story—and if that story includes years of automatic car washes, Teesside’s coastal salt air, and industrial fallout from the chemical works, the plot probably involves swirl marks, hazing, and a finish that’s lost its sparkle.

1-Step Paint Correction is the middle ground between light enhancement and full correction. Using a cutting compound that also refines in one pass, we remove up to 75% of visible paint defects. The result is dramatically cleaner, sharper paintwork that looks like you’ve knocked years off the car’s age.

This is proper professional paint correction—not the quick polish you might get at a valet. We work panel by panel, under proper lighting, to systematically improve your entire vehicle’s finish. And because this package includes interior deep clean and engine bay cleaning, you’re getting a complete transformation.

What Paint Defects Does 1-Step Correct?

Swirl Marks: Those circular scratches visible in direct sunlight, typically caused by automatic car washes and poor washing technique. 1-Step removes approximately 60-75% of swirls depending on their depth.

Light Scratches: Surface scratches that haven’t gone through the clear coat. If you can feel a scratch with your fingernail, it may be too deep for 1-Step—but most light scratches respond well.

Hazing & Dullness: That flat, lifeless appearance where paint has lost its depth and gloss. 1-Step restores the clarity that makes colour pop again.

Water Spots: Mineral deposits from hard water or rain that have etched lightly into the clear coat. Most water spotting corrects well with 1-Step.

Light Oxidation: The chalky appearance paint develops from UV exposure over time. 1-Step cuts through this to reveal fresh, glossy paint underneath.

What’s Included in the Package

Full Decontamination Wash Before machine polishing, your car receives a thorough decontamination process. This includes a safe hand wash, iron fallout remover (essential in Teesside with industrial fallout and brake dust), tar spot removal, and clay bar treatment to pull embedded contaminants from the clear coat. By the time we start polishing, the paint is as clean as possible.

1-Step Machine Polish Using dual-action and rotary polishers with carefully selected pad and compound combinations, we systematically work every panel. The compound cuts into the clear coat to remove defects while simultaneously refining the surface for a smooth, glossy finish. This is meticulous work done under inspection lighting to ensure consistent results.

Interior Deep Clean Your cabin gets a proper deep clean: full vacuum of all surfaces including crevices, steam cleaning of fabrics, dashboard and trim detail, and interior glass cleaned. The interior transformation matches the exterior—so your car feels completely renewed.

Engine Bay Clean We degrease and detail your engine bay, including plastics dressed and surfaces cleaned. A clean engine bay completes the presentation and makes the car feel properly cared for throughout.

Paint Protection A spray sealant is included to protect your freshly corrected paint for up to 3 months. For longer-lasting protection, we offer ceramic coating upgrades—from 1-year to 7-year options—that lock in your corrected finish and make ongoing maintenance easier.

How Long Does It Take?

1-Step Paint Correction typically takes 5 to 7 hours for standard vehicles, spread across a day or day and a half. Larger vehicles (SUVs, estates) or paint in particularly poor condition may take longer. We don’t rush this work—proper correction requires care, attention, and the right lighting conditions.

We can work at your location if space allows, or arrange for your vehicle to come to our unit for the duration of the work.

1-Step vs Gloss Enhancement vs 2-Step: Choosing Right

Gloss Enhancement (from £250): Single-stage polish for light defects. Removes 50-60% of light swirls. Best for paint that’s slightly dull or has minor swirls.

1-Step Correction (from £400, this service): Aggressive single-stage correction. Removes up to 75% of defects. The right choice when you have visible swirls and want significant improvement without the full 2-step investment.

2-Step Correction (from £550): Two-stage process with cutting then refining. Removes up to 95% of defects. For heavily marked paint where near-perfect results are the goal.

Most daily drivers with typical swirl mark damage get excellent results from 1-Step. The improvement is dramatic, the paint looks significantly better in all lighting conditions, and the price represents genuine value compared to the more intensive 2-Step process.

Who This Service Is For

1-Step Correction works brilliantly for:

  • Daily drivers that have accumulated swirl marks and need a proper reset
  • Cars being prepared for sale—corrected paint adds real perceived value and helps justify your asking price
  • Pre-ceramic coating prep—ceramic locks in your paint’s condition, so correcting first gives superior long-term results
  • Enthusiast cars that deserve better than their current finish but don’t quite need show-car perfection
  • New cars that arrived with dealer swirls from PDI and transport
  • Lease returns where paint condition affects final charges

Why Professional Correction Matters

You could buy a polisher and have a go yourself—but paint correction done wrong causes permanent damage. We see plenty of cars where previous DIY attempts have burned through clear coat, left holograms, or created uneven surfaces.

Professional correction uses:

  • Proper inspection lighting to see defects clearly
  • Multiple pad and compound combinations matched to your paint type
  • Temperature and pressure control to avoid burning
  • Systematic approaches that ensure consistent results across all panels
  • Experience recognising when to stop before causing damage

The difference is visible—and it’s permanent. A proper 1-Step correction leaves your car looking dramatically better for years, not weeks.

Products & Equipment

We use professional polishing systems from Rupes and Flex with compounds from Koch-Chemie, Menzerna, and Scholl Concepts. Ceramic coating options include Gyeon ranges from 1-year to 7-year durability. For decontamination and wash stages, we use Gyeon, Cartec, Bilt Hamber, and Performance PPL products.

The Final Result

Expect up to 75% defect removal, dramatically improved gloss levels, and paint that looks years newer. In direct sunlight, the difference is striking—instead of a web of swirl marks, you’ll see deep, clear reflections and colour that pops.

Combined with the interior deep clean and engine bay detail, you’re getting a complete vehicle transformation that makes a real difference to how your car looks and feels.
