Looking for car detailing in Middlesbrough? There are more options than you’d expect. Mobile services, studios, budget valets to paint correction specialists. Here’s an honest rundown of who does what across Teesside.
Full disclosure: I run ED AutoCare, so I’m biased. But I know this industry, and I’d rather point you to someone good than have you disappointed. Not every detailer suits every job.
Mobile Detailing Services
ED AutoCare
That’s me. Mobile valeting and detailing across Middlesbrough, Redcar, Stockton, and surrounding Teesside. I focus on cars—not vans, caravans, or fleet work. Daily drivers and weekend cars.
Services from basic refreshes to two-step paint correction. Mobile-only—I come to your home or work. No waiting rooms, no driving across town.
Not the right fit: if you need 20 vehicles for business or a classic car needing specialist knowledge, there are better options (below).
Mark Hayton Valeting
Mark’s been detailing 15+ years across Teesside and Durham. Covers cars, vans, caravans, motorhomes—anything beyond cars, he’s worth calling. Traditional mobile valeting with solid experience.
Fresh Car
Fresh Car is a national franchise across Middlesbrough and surrounding areas. Standardized packages from mini valets to signature services. Advantage: consistency. Trade-off: less personal than independents.
MVC Mobile Vehicle Cleaning
A small business based in Billingham that brings their own power and water. Covers Billingham, Middlesbrough, and Hartlepool. Good option if you want something local and straightforward.
Studio-Based Detailers
KLF Detailing (Middlesbrough)
KLF operates from a studio on Leven Road in Middlesbrough but also offers mobile services. Their pricing is competitive: maintenance valets from £60, deep cleans from £170, and paint correction work starting at £450 for enhancement detail up to £750 for two-stage correction.
They’ve built a decent social media presence with before-and-after content. If you want studio-based work with the option of mobile, they’re worth considering.
MACS Valeting & Detailing (Redcar)
Established in 2019 with a studio in central Redcar, MACS is Autoglym Professional Certified and an Infinity Wax specialist. They also do mobile work across Teesside. The certification angle is solid if you want assurance about product quality and technique.
Over 15 years of detailing experience between the team. Good option for Redcar locals who want to drop the car off.
DP Automotive Group (Riverside Industrial Estate)
DP is different from most on this list. They’re primarily a paintless dent removal (PDR) specialist, but they also do high-end detailing and are the only Feynlab-accredited ceramic coating installer in Teesside.
Here’s where they shine: if you have a luxury car, they’ve got manufacturer approvals from Aston Martin, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes, and others. That’s not just marketing—it means they meet those brands’ standards for work on their vehicles.
They’re fixed-location only (no mobile service), and they’re more expensive. But for a high-value vehicle that needs specialist handling, the premium is justified.
The Shining Monkeys (Stockton)
A professional detailing service based at Woodstock Court in Stockton. If you’re Stockton-based and want somewhere local, they’re an option. Less information available online than some others, so worth calling for specifics.
MBS Detailing (Middlesbrough)
The owner previously worked for Mercedes and Porsche dealerships, which tells you something about the calibre of work. If you’ve got a premium vehicle and want someone who’s handled plenty of them, MBS has that background.
Specialists & Diversified Services
MAS (Tinting, Wrapping, Detailing)
MAS covers Middlesbrough and Stockton with a broader range: detailing, window tinting, and vinyl wrapping. If you want multiple services done together—say, a detail plus window tinting—doing it all in one place can be convenient.
Just Car Care (Washington)
Technically not Middlesbrough, but only about 20 minutes away. Just Car Care runs the largest detailing centre in the North East and they’re Gyeon Certified for ceramic coatings. They also sell products, so if you’re into doing your own maintenance, it’s worth a visit.
They offer “Gyeon Certified Infinite Warranty” ceramic coatings, which is a specific program with proper backing. If ceramic coating is your priority and you want that certification, they’re the nearest option with it.
How to Choose
For everyday cars wanting regular maintenance: Any of the mobile services will handle a routine valet well. Choose based on location and availability.
For paint correction and ceramic coating: KLF, MACS, or ED AutoCare all offer these services at different price points. DP Automotive and Just Car Care offer premium options if you want certifications and warranties.
For luxury or high-value vehicles: DP Automotive’s manufacturer approvals give peace of mind. MBS Detailing’s background with Mercedes and Porsche is also relevant.
For non-car vehicles (vans, caravans, motorhomes): Mark Hayton Valeting handles these. Most car-focused detailers (including me) don’t.
For additional services (tinting, wrapping, dent removal): MAS or DP Automotive cover these alongside detailing.
What About Price?
Prices vary significantly based on service level, vehicle size, and condition. Rough guides:
- Basic valet/refresh: £50-80
- Deep clean: £100-170
- Paint enhancement: £250-450
- Full paint correction: £400-750+
- Ceramic coating: £100-500+ (depending on durability)
Get quotes from a few places. Cheaper isn’t always worse, and expensive doesn’t guarantee quality. Ask what products they use, how long the work takes, and what’s actually included.
Final Thoughts
Middlesbrough and Teesside have decent options for car detailing at all levels. The best choice depends on what you need: convenience, specialization, certification, or value.
Always talk to a few detailers before booking. Good ones explain what they offer and whether it suits you. The ones pushing immediate booking are usually the ones to avoid.
If you want to discuss what your car needs, feel free to get in touch. Even if I’m not the right fit, I’ll point you in the right direction.
